Weekly Wrap-ups

Week 2

It's been a dangerous week Blood Bowl fans, which is the way we like it. Some teams have shot to the top of the rankings, while others have been beaten within inches of their lives.

David Kyle's Sschyzn'tryn Blackgaurds have become the first team with a two-win record, taking down Rob Collini's Death-Jays with 3 points, 3 inflicted casualties, and 1 inflicted death. With one catcher dead, the other out of commission for a game, and both blitzers on the injury list, the Death-Jays will be bringing a lineman-heavy lineup to their upcoming game. Particularly unfortunate, two of the injured players will be returning the week after with persistent injuries.

Even more death was on the table in the Dwarf Crimes vs Motley Cruise game, with Jonathan Kuhfuss's Cruise having two players die during the match, including one of his prized Wardancers, which even his apothecary couldn't keep in the land of the living. It's to Jonathan's credit that he still held Chris Tandlmayer's team to a 1-1 tie despite his losses, but our analysts are less confident about his future success with this loss of key players.

Katie Schrader attempted to bring the Brute Vegetables back from their previous brutal loss, but the crowd loves an underdog and wanted to make sure they stayed that way, assaulting the team at the half and putting all but three of its played on their backs for a turn to give Matt Tandlmayer the opportunity to press ahead for a second-half touchdown. Warpstone Troll Beat Juice showed his displeasure by ripping apart an opposing player, but it wasn't enough to avoid a second loss, this time at a slim 2-1.

Division 2 saw a pair of tie games from the Big Dogs vs the Necro Wafers and the Scarlet Letters vs the Re-Animaniacs, making for a second tie for each of Bryan's Dogs and David's Letters. Matt's Da Gypsy’s Kissers edged out a 1-0 victory over Rob's Soslo Fjordhjorders. With only minor casualties sustained in the second division, fans are demanding immediate action by league officials for new ways to up the body count.

In the inter-division game the Junior Dinosaurs put away the Silly Birds 1-0.

Two star players are starting to emerge, both in Division 1. On the Blackguards, Blitzer Calith has gained Dodge and Side Step, which in addition to his Block is sure to have plenty of ball carriers shaking in their boots. One isn't too worried, though, with the Silly Bird's Great Auk adding Block to his previously-gained Dodge and base Catch, making him as hard to take down as Calith is to shake. Fans are already starting to anticipate this blodger match-up in week 5, assuming both players live long enough to get there.

And with that we conclude week two and move on to week three. Will David continue his string of successes with the Blackguards in his match against Dwarf Crimes? Which of the badly-injured Motley Cruise and Westrhine Death-Jays will limp their way to victory? Will one of the Big Dogs or Scarlet Letters be able to at least win or lose a game? Tune in this week to find out!

Week 1

In the Blood Bowl report, Dwarf Crimes fought to a 2-0 victory against the Westrhine Death-Jays. Unfortunately for coach Chris Tandlmayer, next's week's game against Jonathan Kuhfuss's Motley Cruise will have to contend with blocker Pink Lemonade's absence from injury. More catastrophically, Rob Collini will be struggling with the Death-Jays being down three players in next week's game against David Kyle's Blackguards. Will he be able to withstand the loss of those linemen?

David Kyle's Scarlet Letters opened strong against Bryan's Big Dogs, taking back their kickoff and scoring a touchdown late in the first inning. However, as their opponent's injuries mounted the Big Dogs were able to take control of the field in the second inning, steadily advancing the ball through crumbling opposition until sprinting it to the end zone in the last play of the game. Following this tie, despite having seven of his players sidelined for injuries, David will be bringing an undamaged team against Katie's Re-Animaniacs and Bryan will be doing the same against Jonathan's Necro wafers.

The elves threw down as David's Sschyzn'tryn Blackgaurds fought to a 2-1 victory against Jonathan's Motley Cruise. The Blackguards will be going into their game against Rob's Westrhine Death-Jays at full strength, including blitzer Calith with his new dodge skill. Motley Cruise suffered tragedy with the death of one of their players, with an additional player out from injury for their upcoming game against Dwarf Crimes.

Moving to Division 2, Katie Tandlmayer's Re-Animaniacs squeaked to a 1-0 victory against the Necro wafers. David Kyle and his Scarlet Letters are sure to be relieved that high-value player Mummy Wally Llama was injured during the game, keeping him from playing in their upcoming match. Whatever the damage to their pride, the Necro wafers emerged unscathed, putting them in unfortunately excellent position to square off against the Big Dogs next week.

In the brother-on-brother match, Chris took Matt's Da Gypsy’s Kissers down 1-0. The Junior Dinosaurs will be down two men in their next game in two weeks against the Big Dogs, while the Kissers will be at full strength against the Fjordhjorders.

Rob Collini brough the Soslo Fjordhjorders to a 3-0 victory against Matt Tandlmayer's Ducky’s Rat Pack in the season's first inter-division match. Spending turn after turn pressed against their endzone, the Rat Pack found themselves giving up a late first-half touchdown to the Fjordhjorders. The second half began with a back-and-forth over the fifty yard line before injuries wore the Pack down, allowing the Fjordhjorders to score two additional touchdowns. The Soslo team enters week two at full strength, with two team members, including berserker Börkr, at level 2 against Matt's Da Gypsy’s Kissers. Will Matt's Kissers fare better against the Fjordhjorders than his Pack did?

WELCOME TO WEEK TWO Blood Bowl fans...

... it's sure to be an exciting one. With 6-0 and 3-0 as the two biggest losses of the season so far, who will emerge from the Brute Vegetables vs Ducky’s Rat Pack match closer to victorious? Apothecaries stand ready to see if Dwarf Crimes will continue their pattern of maliciously injuring opposing players. And criminal authorities are baffled at Big Dogs minotaur Argos's brazen threat that he will murder Necro Wafers werewolf Wolfie had a Dream during their upcoming match. Tune in next week to see what happens!
